Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad and Tobago along with Kingsmead in Durban have been given warning by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday for failing to prepare their respective grounds properly which led to the abandonment of Test matches.

India failed to consolidate their numero Uno Test ranking after the 4th Test between against West Indies at Queen’s Park Oval came to a halt. Despite the Sun shining brightly from the second day,  the match couldn’t go on due to the lack of super sopper at the venue. Only 22 overs were bowled in the last Test before the match was called off.

ICC Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle termed the ground facility as “poor” as per the clause 3 of the ICC's pitch and outfield monitoring process.

ICC warned both the cricket boards (West Indies and South Africa) in a media release, yesterday for their failure in preparing the ground for the matches.

It states, “The sanctions take into account Durban and Port of Spain venues history of producing good conditions for international cricket and commitment by both the boards to take appropriate steps to ensure similar events are not repeated in future."
