Watch: Yuvraj rolls back the years to save a boundary

Yuvraj Singh was unable to perform with the bat but the Punjabi veteran had his fielding efforts to contribute to his side. The explosive batsman turned back time when he chased a travelling ball to rope it in before it went for a boundary and gave a glimpse of his glorious past.

Yuvraj Singh has still got the fitness and physique of a youngster and this was made evident by the 35-year old with his brilliant fielding effort.

The incident took place in the 9th over which was pretty tight until the fifth delivery when Manan Vohra played a late cut and used Mohammad Nabi's pace to direct the ball towards the boundary. Yuvraj Singh was fielding at backward point and started chasing the ball which seemed to win the race but Yuvraj slid in and flicked the ball centimetres before it touched the boundary rope and the effort was an absolute treat to the eyes for the home crowd.

The fielding standards for the current IPL edition seem to be raised with every passing match, and that is amply proved by this effort.
