WATCH | David Warner gets bowled while attempting switch-hit

T20 is the main reason for the invention of unorthodox shots in cricket and while they are aesthetically pleasing when executed well, if it goes wrong it can make the batsman looks silly. David Warner is known for trying such shots and against Rising Pune Supergiant he showed both sides of the coin.

Sunrisers' captain Warner has shown his improvisation skills in the IPL so far with all kinds of unusual shots. The switch hit has been a regular part of Warner's repertoire this season and with his team struggling, the Aussie pulled out his go-to shot to up the ante. Warner decided to go after Imran Tahir, who had conceded just seven runs in his first two overs, by hitting the leggie over cover by switching to a right hander's stance.

However, the risks involved in this shots was evident when Warner tried to recreate the switch hit again a couple of overs later. But it proved to be the wrong decision against Jaydev Unadkat. This time around, Warner missed the ball completely and it ended up disturbing his furniture. It is highly doubtful that the Aussie will stop attempting such wild shots in the future considering his current methods has seen him become a consistent contender for the orange cap.
