Rubbishing reports which had claimed that the HCA will not host the Test match between India and Bangladesh scheduled to be played in February, HCA secretary K John Manoj has confirmed that there is no lack of funds. He went on to assure that they will host Bangladesh for a practice match as well.

“Let me set the record straight that HCA has never ever shown reluctance to host the Test. We are issuing tender notice for in stadia advertisement today. Also we are set to sign a deal with TCM (Twenty First Century Media) within a day or two. I don’t know who spread all these rumours,” HCA Secretary Manoj told PTI.

Initial reports suggested that the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) had expressed their inability to host the solitary Test match between India and Bangladesh at the Uppal stadium scheduled to be played from February 8 to 12.

Let me tell you we have organised for enough funds to host the Test match which will procure through in stadia rights.

Meanwhile, The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) has informed the BCCI that it cannot host the two under-19 Test matches between India and England that were scheduled from February 13 to 24 at Chennai. All these were seen as a fallout of the battle between the State Associations and the Supreme Court over the implementation of the Lodha panel recommendations. However, the HCA secretary has now squashed these rumours.

“Every association needs clearance from Supreme Court and everyone has got allocated funds cleared by Apex Court. Did any of the Test matches stop. And let me tell you we have organised for enough funds to host the Test match which will procure through in stadia rights.

“In fact Bangladesh wants to come a week early for practice match. We have enough funds for that also. Therefore I believe it is some BCCI officials, who probably are disqualified, want to spread baseless rumours. So I put it again: Hyderabad is hosting the Test match,” Manoj added.
