The young Pakistani side that thrashed India in the Champions Trophy final have been showered with rewards following their successful Champions Trophy campaign. Apart from the tournament prize money, the players will be rewarded by the Pakistan government and the Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB).

Pakistan made history by beating India with a convincing margin of 180-runs at the Champions Trophy final, which not only helped reactivate the dormant state of cricket in the nation but also turned the young players into instant millionaires.

Pakistan won a cash prize of approx. INR 14 crores for winning the 2017 Champions Trophy, which was incremented by $500,000 (Rs. 3 Cr) from the prize money awarded in the previous edition of the tournament. Runners-up India were awarded Rs. 7 crore while England and Bangladesh each bagged Rs. 3 crore for reaching the semi-finals.

Apart from the 9-digit prize money, the players that featured in the team would be awarded ten million rupees each for their commendable efforts in the tournament as announced Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Furthermore, Nawaz Sharif will also host a grand reception in the honour of the winning team at Islamabad. The Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) announced that the players will receive a bonus of one million rupees each, in addition to the 29 million rupees that the board owes them as a part of their central contracts.

Riaz Malik, a Pakistani building tycoon, also announced a reward of one million rupees for each player along with plots for each of them.

Moreover, the win also increased the brand value of Rumman Raees, Fakhar Zaman, and Fahim Ashraf, who made their debut in the tournament along with the other players and are now expected to bag hefty amounts in endorsement deals.
