Laxman disappointed at Kohli’s over the top celebration

The controversy arose, on Saturday, when Glenn Maxwell mocked Kohli by holding his shoulder while grinning the entire time after saving a boundary for his team. The gesture was aimed at the Indian captain, who had injured his shoulder while similarly saving a boundary for his team.

Following the incident, Laxman, who was known for his calm demeanor, had criticized the Aussie duo for their crass mockery of the Indian captain. 

"Glen Maxwell and Steve Smith, what example is he setting for his team? That's very disappointing. You can sledge it's fine but not mocking someone who is injured, in pain", Laxman had said earlier.

To exact the revenge, Kohli too picked an opportune moment and tapped his injured shoulder multiple times when Warner was unable to pick up a Jadeja delivery that went on to hit his stumps after pitching on the rough outside off stump. Laxman showed consistency in his punditry when he said that he was disappointed at Kohli’s over-the-top celebration.

“Very disappointed to see a celebration of Kohli after Warner’s wicket. He is the captain. Someone did a mistake that does not mean he has to do the same," Laxman had said.
