The BCCI have put forth the names of Cheteshwar Pujara and Harmanpreet Kaur for this year's Arjuna award honours. Test specialist Pujara was in breathtaking form in the last season while Kaur was sensational with the willow in the Asia Cup and in the T20I series against the Australians.

Pujara amassed 1,316 runs to become India's highest aggregate run-getter in a single Test season. The 29-year-old Saurashtra batsman has scored 3,798 runs in 48 Tests at an average of just over 51, with 11 centuries and 14 fifties.

"We have sent Cheteshwar and Harmanpreet's name for the Arjuna award. The names have been forwarded to the Ministry of Sports. Both have been exceptional performers during last season and were the unanimous choice from our end," an unnamed BCCI official told PTI.

Kaur has been the most impactful batswoman for India in limited-over format. The 28-year-old from Punjab spearheaded India's T20 series victory against hosts Australia and also played a pivotal role in India's triumphant Asia Cup campaign. She also turned out for Sydney Thunders in the Woman Big Bash League in Australia.
