Sachin Tendulkar's humble reply to young fan's letter

Sachin Tendulkar has always been admired for his humility as much as his cricketing abilities and the maestro showed exactly why this is the case with a humble and heart warming response to a young fan’s letter. Clearly, Tendulkar is still the ideal role model for the millions who look up to him.

Sachin Tendulkar is no stranger to fan letters. However, what sets him apart is the encouraging and heartwarming nature with which he responds to some of these letters. And, an 11-year-old named Marcus Kurishingal is the latest one to experience this for himself.

Marcus had written to Tendulkar, as part of a class assignment, expressing his admiration for the maestro who he considers his ‘hero’. According to the young kid, a ‘hero’ is someone who loves sports and is willing to help the poor. While Sachin's love for the sport is well known, the 11-year old cited the charity work that Sachin has carried out, Sachin set up an educational charity in 2005, as the reason why he considers him as a hero.

While Marcus thanked Sachin for taking the time out to read his letter, Tendulkar went one step further and thanked him for the letter on Facebook.

You can see the letter here.
