Ben Stokes feels privileged to be representing England, once again

After the being dropped for the Ashes due to his off-field antics, Ben Stokes said that he felt privileged playing for England in the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand. After a disappointing outing in the first match, the 26- year old hit a fantastic unbeaten 63 runs along with 2 wickets.
Chasing a target of 224, England found themselves in a spot of bother when Jonny Bairstow was dismissed for 37 leaving the visitors 84/3 in the 16th over. However, the incoming Stokes, along with Eoin Morgan, stitched together a valuable partnership to guide England to a comfortable six wicket victory.
"It was very satisfying for me. I was quite emotional walking off there at the end. Even walking on the field the first time and walking off made me understand how much of a privilege it is to represent your country,” Stokes said, reported AFP.
Ben Stokes joined England after he pleaded not guilty in a case of Affray which is still ongoing. He spoke for the first time about the Ashes where his presence was sorely felt as England lost the series by a score of 4-0.
"It was obviously frustrating to watch the Ashes. I went through all the emotions as I would have done playing but there's not a lot I can change about that now. I've been following all the cricket the lads have been playing but what I have to do now is focus on going forward.”
Stokes is pretty confident about the upcoming matches and said he doesn’t want to ease off because of the long 5 month layoff.
"I want to contribute every time I play for England," he said.
