Supreme Court to hear CoA’s plea on Hardik Pandya-KL Rahul incident next week

After the suspension of both Hardik and Rahul following their controversial comments on “Koffee with Karan”, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) had requested for the appointment of an ombudsman in the BCCI to decide the future course of action in the incident. 

However, a bench comprising Justice SA Bobde and Justice AM Sapre has informed that it would hear the matter after a week when senior advocate PS Narsimha will be taking over charge as amicus curiae in the matter.

Earlier, senior advocate Gopal Subramanium had withdrawn from being an amicus curiae in the matter. Meanwhile, the top court went ahead for Narsimha after advocate Parag Tripathi had mentioned that the court should appoint the ombudsman directly in the Indian cricket board as the decision is needed to be taken in an urgent basis. 

As both the players have been suspended till the end of an inquiry related to the matter, the selectors have named replacements for both Pandya and Rahul. Tamil Nadu all-rounder Vijay Shankar has already joined the Indian team during the ongoing three-match ODI series while top-order batsman Shubman Gill will tour New Zealand and join the Men in Blue there.
