VIDEO | Kagiso Rabada’s 146kph thunderbolt smashes Shikhar Dhawan’s bat into two

From the very first ball that Kagiso Rabada bowled today, he had only one intent - to take wickets on every delivery - and that inspired him to bowl every delivery above 140kph. In one such instance, his 146kph low full toss kissed Shikhar Dhawan’s bat in such a way that it took a part with it.

During an interview ahead of the India clash, Rabada had some difficult words to say for Virat Kohli and called the latter as an immature person who couldn’t take a sledge. That had created a solid sub-plot for the game between India and South Africa and everyone and their pet dog was looking for the clash with bated breathe.

However, Rabada didn’t wait for Kohli to unleash his lethal best and was right on the money from the word go. On the last ball of the fourth over, the South African bowled a low full toss to Dhawan, which came at a speed of 146kph, and that hit the bottom of the bat hard.

While the brutality of all was in action, it became evident for the outside world as a piece of wood from Dhawan’s bat moved towards slip region. As if it was a game of bragging rights, Rabada was all pumped up but that just went on to show his ability.
