A BCCI official close to the developments has told IANS that the full IPL schedule is expected to be declared on March 18. Earlier last month, the BCCI had declared the fixtures only for the first 17 games, till April 5, as the general election dates had not been released at that point.

As cricket fans around the country and abroad get ready for the 12th edition of the IPL which is about to get underway from March 23, the BCCI is likely to announce the remaining list of matches on March 18. The complete schedule is expected to be declared at the sidelines of the next Committee of Administrators (CoA) meeting which is scheduled for next Monday. The schedule of the league is being declared in parts because of the upcoming general elections in India which will be held during the same period in the months of April and May.

"It is expected that the remaining schedule for this season of the IPL would be finalised and announced on Monday when the CoA meets (at the Trident Hotel). The IPL COO and his team are working overtime on this and it is a credit to them that the BCCI can even hope of holding the entire season in India this year," a senior BCCI official told IANS.

The BCCI had earlier announced the fixtures for first 17 matches last month and the first match on March 23 will be played between the defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
