IPL 2019 | CSK to donate first home match ticket earnings to Pulwama attack martyrs

Chennai Super Kings will donate the ticket revenue of their first home game of this year’s IPL, to the families of CRPF jawans who were martyred in the Pulwama attack of February 14, which took lives of over 40 personnel. This news was announced on social media by CSK’s director, Rakesh Singh.

CSK will play their first match of the Indian Premier League on March 23 at MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. The ticket proceedigs of this match would serve the kin of the martyred soldiers of the dastardly terrorist attack in Jammu - Srinagar Highway, on a CRPF convoy of 78 buses, carrying 2500 personnel on February 14.

“Our captain MS Dhoni, who is honorary Lt. Colonel of the Indian territorial army, will present the cheque!” Singh said, as tweeted by CSK’s offical twitter handle.

MS Dhoni, who was conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel of the Indian Territorial Army in 2011, and other Indian players had sported army caps during the third ODI against Australia in order to pay their respects to the victims. CSK will start their IPL campaign against RCB, and will go on to play all their home matches at the MA Chidambaram stadium, Chennai.
