MI vs SRH | Twitter and Bumrah left stunned as ecstatic Anshul Kamboj's maiden scalp tragically declared no-ball

Misfortunes are a part and parcel of life, but they sting all the same when they occur on a grand stage. Such was the scenario in the clash between Mumbai and Hyderabad where Mumbai's debutant Anhsul Kamboj delivered a peach that uprooted Head's off stump, only for it to be ruled a no-ball.

The decision to bowl first proved fruitful for the home team as they effectively utilized the slower Wankhede track to their advantage. Despite Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma making a solid start and taking the score to 32/0 in four overs, Mumbai Indians' recent recruit, Anshul Kamboj, was introduced into the attack by skipper Hardik Pandya for the fifth over. However, this move didn't go as planned for the home side.

Head smashed a six off the second ball of the fifth over and signalled his intent to attack. But on the fifth ball, Kamboj delivered a fuller-length ball targeting the off-stump. As Head attempted to make room for a drive, he misjudged the line resulting in the ball crashing into his off stump, prompting celebrations from the Mumbai players for Kamboj's maiden IPL wicket.

Unfortunately, the excitement was short-lived as the no-ball alarm reverberated throughout the packed Wankhede Stadium and the jubilation quickly turned into silence. The giant screen confirmed that Kamboj had overstepped, with on-field umpire Navdeep Singh signalling the same. Disheartened, Kamboj had to regather himself to deliver the next ball, knowing it would be a free hit. However, the Haryana youngster faced further disappointment as Head capitalized on the opportunity, smashing two consecutive boundaries.

The incident sparked discussions on social media platforms, with the Twitterverse expressing their thoughts on Kamboj's unfortunate no-ball.
