UPW vs DCW | Twitter and Lanning erupts as Reddy’s fielding botch complements Pandey’s poor death bowling

Few characters in the cricketing realm are as cool as Meg Lanning under pressure. However, the last game of the ensuing WPL at the Kotambi Stadium between Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz saw a different version of the Australian as she seemed furious after a costly 17th over in the first innings

It didn’t come as a surprise when Lanning opted to field first after the initial five games of the tourney were won by the team batting second. However, Kiran Navgire counterpunched them with a belligerent 27-ball 51 before the Capitals bowlers bounced back in the middle overs phase. However, the slog over went wayward for them with Chinelle Henry’s calypso hitting leaving the opposition skipper furious.

After leaking a couple of sixes and a four in the 17th over, Shikha Pandey sprayed a full-toss outside the stumps that Henry hacked across the line towards widish deep mid-wicket. Arundhati Reddy, sprinting from the deep, dived towards her left but the ball ricocheted off her palm onto the boundary boards. Subsequently, the TV umpire was referred to for a waist-height no-ball and boundary check while the cameras spotted a seething Lanning speaking to the umpire. She looked very animated throughout the over as Shikha’s balls were sailing to all parts of the ground. Although the final verdict remained a fair delivery and six, the Twitterverse found Lanning losing her calm rare.

HAHA!!

What a Knock!

Yeah !
