Cricket is a game that is played in the mind, and Rishabh Pant proved just that against England in Manchester. The Indian vice-captain, who was diagnosed with a fracture after getting hit on his foot by Chris Woakes, came on to continue his innings on the second day amid loud cheers from fans.

‌With England making quick inroads with the second new ball after holding India to 264/4 on day one of the fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester, the visitors wanted someone to step up to help them to a formidable total.
