PBKS vs RCB | Twitter in splits as Suyash Sharma's celebrappeal fail leaves him embarrassed

Ever since Stuart Broad decided that the umpires raising their fingers is a mere formality, the cricketing world has never been short of entertainment with all the bloopers going around. Suyash Sharma joined that long list on Thursday when his celebrappeal fell apart in Mullanpur against Punjab.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowled out Punjab Kings for a paltry 101 in Qualifier 1 at Maharaja Yudhvir Singh International Stadium to station themselves on the brink of a fourth IPL final in their 18-year history. Suyash Sharma proved to be the destructor-in-chief with dreamy figures of 3/17 in his three overs, with scalps of Shashank Singh, Marcus Stoinis, and Musheer Khan shutting down any glimmers of a comeback from the hosts. However, if the wrist-spinner is to be believed he should have had four scalps but to his fortune, the umpires and Hawk Eye was not in agreement.

On the fourth ball of the 11th over, Suyash welcomed Harpreet Brar to the crease with a googly from over the wicket that pitched on a length around the leg-stump line and thumped the batter's pads. Suyash raised his arm aloft but just when the fans were expecting him to turn around in a rousing appeal, the 22-year-old wheeled away screaming, taking the umpire's decision for granted. It was only when he had made his way through the entire length of the pitch and past the batter when Suyash turned around, realizing his teammates did not seem ecstatic as him. Rajat Patidar even went so far as take a review to avoid the bowler some embarrassment, but technology showing how far outside leg stump the ball had pitched perhaps only amde matters worse.

Twitterati wasn't one to complain.
