IND vs WI | Twitter reacts as Rahul shoots look of betrayal at Delhi surface after being undone by Warrican

KL Rahul's resurgence as an out-and-out match-winner in IPL 2025 could partly be attributed to how at home the opener felt on his new home track, the Arun Jaitely Stadium. No wonder then that the veteran was left frustrated in Delhi on Friday as he failed to capitalize on a good start.

India took little time to assume early dominance of the second Test against the West Indies as openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul took advantage of a successful coin flip to dig themselves in following a cautious start. Before long, the pair had brought up yet another half-century stand and the runs began to flow quickly as the new ball's movement in the air faded away. A long day out in the field seemed to be in store for the Caribbean outfit with little clue over how to pry a dismissal, until Rahul decided to sabotage himself with some help from the bare deck.

Batting on 38 at a healthy strike rate of 70, Rahul decided to push the envelope further in the 18th over as he danced down the track against left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican bowling from around the stumps. However, Warrican seemed to see Rahul coming and dropped his length just enough to land in front of Rahul's bat before viciously turning away from the bat to bamboozle Rahul. It was the most turn a ball had seen on the day and seemed to even take Tevin Imlach by surprise, who reesponded well by shuffling to his right and completing a comprheensive stumping to send Rahul packing.

The Indian batter was shocked at the way the surface had behaved and could not believe his luck at faling to cash in against a rookie attack on a friendly surface, much like Twitterati.

Fortunes of late have refused to enable India any further in their quest to cricketing glory, at least as far as tosses are concerned. With the team already holding the record for the most consecutive tosses lost, Shubman Gill finally broke the curse in Delhi on Friday with his first win as skipper.
