Vaibhav Suryavanshi is creating history in Indian cricket. He had made some astonishing performances in the Youth Tests this year. And now, Suryavanshi has been announced as the Vice Captain of Bihar in the Ranji Trophy.
The Indian team has seen a number of youngsters. But none of them has been able to match the level of Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Or one can also call 2025 the year of his rise. From performing in the IPL to scoring tons in Youth Tests,
A lot appears to be in store this year by Vaibhav Suryavanshi. His Ranji Trophy comeback to the Bihar team took place. But this is not a normal comeback, where a player returns after missing a few games. Suryavanshi is declared the Vice Captain of the team in the tournament. This makes him the youngest to ever lead his team in the Ranji Trophy as a vice captain.
Let's take a look at how the year 2025 has favored Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi started to rise with IPL 2025. He was bought by the Rajasthan Royals in the auction for a total of 1.1 crore rupees. This made him the youngest to bag an IPL deal. But it was just the start for Vaibhav Suryavanshi to create his name in the IPL.
In his debut game against Lucknow SuperGiants, he made it count. Vaibhav opened the innings for the team and made 34 runs on 20 balls. He obviously had no trouble in smashing the ball down the ground. In the following match with RCB,
But it was the match against the Gujarat Titans that helped him create another record. He had a total of 101 runs, which were made on 38 balls, thus becoming the youngest player to make an IPL century. Along with that, he also ended the season with 252 runs in 7 matches at an average of 36.
After the IPL 2025, the India Under-19 went on a tour of England. And fortunately, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was also a part of the team. He did not do well in the first Youth ODI. In the second one, however, he made 48 out of 19 balls as the team pursued the sum of 175.

He has eventually made 86 runs with 31 balls in the third Youth ODI, assisting the team to win the game. At the conclusion of the five Youth ODIs, he had a total of 355 runs, averaging 71. Then both teams clashed against each other for two Youth Tests.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi ended up with a half-century in the first Test match. In the second Test, he was not able to perform well, scoring 20 in the first innings and going for a duck in the second. Still, the England tour has given him a kickstart.
Following this, the India Under-19 had a tour of Australia. Within a few months, he went from India to England and from England to Australia. This time, the Under-19 team played in three Youth ODIs and two Youth Tests. In the ODI series, Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 124 runs in 3 innings at an average of 41.33.

In the second Youth ODI, Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 70 runs off 68 balls. This helped India Under-19 to set a total of 300, which was also defended by the team. Later, Vaibhav Suryavanshi also went on to dominate the Australian bowlers in the Youth Tests.
On the very first Youth Test, he made 113 out of 86 runs, including 9 fours and 8 sixes. His knock, too, was also instrumental in ensuring that the team won by an innings and 58 runs. In the second Test, he scored 20 in the first innings where he was then followed by a duck in the second.
And now Vaibhav Suryavanshi is declared as the Vice Captain of Bihar in the Ranji Trophy. He has only played a mere five games last season and will therefore be keen to steer this season.
