Arsenal, Barcelona and others track Germany prospect Assan Ouedraogo.

For the January window, Liverpool is pushing hard to strengthen their attack and midfield as the chase for Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo intensifies. The 65 million pound release clause has placed several top Premier League clubs on alert and Liverpool remain in front due to long standing admiration from sporting director Richard Hughes who originally signed Semenyo in 2023.

Liverpool see the 25-year-old as the most suitable successor to Mohamed Salah after the forward was benched in the recent win at West Ham United. Their main concern is Manchester City who have already made formal contact with Bournemouth and Semenyo is reported to be open to discussions with Pep Guardiola. Fenway Sports Group are also preparing a significant midfield move and are expected to offer 60 million euro for Real Madrid talent Eduardo Camavinga.

The French midfielder has played 14 matches this season, although most appearances have come as a substitute which has encouraged Liverpool to accelerate talks. If a deal fails Liverpool will switch to rising German midfielder Assan Ouedraogo who has produced three goals and four assists in 12 matches along with a recent Germany debut. Arsenal, Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea are also tracking the nineteen year old.
