West Ham’s £27 million striker Niclas Fullkrug, who joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2024, could leave in January after scoring only three goals in 27 games. His agent, Thorsten Wirth, admitted the transfer didn’t work out, blaming repeated injuries for his poor form. The 32-year-old has played just once under Nuno Espirito Santo this season.

Doing the rounds in East London, talk of Niclas Fullkrug’s exit from West Ham has gathered pace after his agent admitted that a January departure “would make sense.” The 32-year-old German striker joined the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund in August 2024 for £27 million but has failed to make an impact.

In 15 months, he has managed only 27 appearances and three goals across competitions, enduring a spell marked by injuries and managerial changes. Fullkrug, who arrived on the back of a strong season with Dortmund and a solid Euro 2024 campaign for Germany, has struggled to adapt to Premier League football. His most notable moment at West Ham came when he publicly criticised his teammates after a 1-1 draw with Southampton last season. Agent Thorsten Wirth admitted on the TOMorrow Business Podcast that the transfer “didn’t work out” and that persistent injuries had halted his progress.

Now sidelined again, Fullkrug has featured only once under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who has not confirmed when the striker will return. With West Ham still in the relegation zone despite a recent 3-1 win over Newcastle, his future at the London Stadium looks increasingly uncertain heading into the January window.
