Juventus are targeting Bologna forward Santiago Castro, who joined from Velez Sarsfield for €13.2 million in January 2024. The 21-year-old has scored 10 goals in 49 Serie A appearances and impressed with his versatility and technique. Valued at €50 million, Castro has drawn interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and Newcastle. Juve may sell Dusan Vlahovic in January to balance finances.

At the heart of Serie A transfer talk, Juventus are reportedly eyeing Bologna’s rising star Santiago Castro as a potential replacement for Dusan Vlahovic. The 21-year-old Argentinian forward joined Bologna from Velez Sarsfield in January 2024 for €13.2 million and has already made an impact, scoring 10 goals in 49 appearances, becoming the youngest Bologna player to reach double figures in Serie A.

Known for his versatility across the front line and technical ability, Castro has attracted interest from top clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United. Despite a foot injury limiting him to just three Serie A starts this season, Castro has managed one goal and one assist in Bologna’s five league games. Bologna value him at €50 million, with a contract running until June 2028, making a domestic sale challenging.

Juventus, struggling with their summer signings Jonathan David and Lois Openda adapting to Serie A, may also consider selling Vlahovic in January to reduce their wage bill. Former Juventus and current Al-Hilal coach Antonio Conte reportedly admires Castro, comparing his style to Lautaro Martinez. Additionally, Castro is learning English with the help of teammate Jonathan Rowe, potentially easing a move to the Premier League in the future.
