England manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly eyeing Coventry City goalkeeper Carl Rushworth for the November qualifiers against Serbia and Albania. Under Frank Lampard’s guidance, the 24-year-old Brighton loanee has kept six clean sheets and went 613 minutes without conceding, playing a key role in Coventry’s unbeaten 12-match run at the top of the Championship.

Being the standout performer in Coventry City’s remarkable Championship campaign, Carl Rushworth has emerged as a surprise contender for an England call-up under Thomas Tuchel. The 24-year-old goalkeeper, on loan from Brighton, has been instrumental in Coventry’s unbeaten start to the season under Frank Lampard. The Sky Blues currently top the Championship table with eight wins and four draws from 12 matches, scoring 34 goals and boasting the second-best defensive record.

Rushworth has kept six clean sheets, the most by any goalkeeper in the division, and recently went 613 minutes without conceding, setting a new club record. Tuchel’s scouts have been monitoring his progress closely ahead of England’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, which carry little pressure after England’s qualification for the 2026 tournament.

With Jordan Pickford retaining his spot as England’s first-choice goalkeeper and James Trafford’s game time at Manchester City limited, Rushworth’s consistent performances could earn him a senior debut. Despite conceding a penalty in Coventry’s 3-1 win over Watford, Lampard praised his shot-stopping and composure. Having represented England at youth levels, Rushworth’s rise reflects his growing maturity and could make him a valuable addition to Tuchel’s next squad.
