Going to the United States has always been part of Harry Kane’s dream, and the England captain continues to express his desire to one day join the NFL as a kicker. The 32-year-old Bayern Munich striker first developed his passion for American football in 2011 after watching a documentary about Tom Brady, with whom he later became friends. A longtime fan of the New England Patriots, Kane even attended their Super Bowl victory in 2019.

Kane’s ambition mirrors that of other footballers who made the switch to the NFL, such as Austrian Toni Fritsch, who won a Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys, and others like Josh Lambo and Brandon Aubrey, who successfully transitioned from soccer to American football. The connection between the two sports dates back to the 1960s, when Pete Gogolak introduced the “soccer-style” kicking method that reshaped NFL field goals.

With an impressive record of 96 penalties scored from 108 attempts, Kane believes his composure under pressure would serve him well as an NFL kicker. Even former Chiefs punter Dustin Colquitt has offered to mentor him, praising his mindset and technique. Although Kane’s Bayern Munich contract runs until 2027, he remains determined to eventually chase his American dream.
