Bengal Warriorz’ Rs 2.205 crore signing Devank Dalal, Best Raider of PKL 11 with 301 points and 18 Super 10s, aims to lead his new team to the playoffs. After impressing with Patna Pirates, the 23-year-old targets Asian Games selection and ultimate gold for India, starting PKL 12 on August 31 vs Haryana Steelers.
As the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 approaches, Bengal Warriorz’ star raider Devank Dalal is determined to deliver his best and guide his new team into the playoffs. Bought for Rs 2.205 crore at the auction, Dalal became the most expensive Indian player and a major signing for a side that missed the playoffs last season. The 23-year-old, who was named Best Raider in Season 11 after scoring 301 points with 18 Super 10s, aims to improve on his performance and avoid past mistakes.
Working closely with coach Naveen Kumar, Dalal has added new skills to his game during two months of training in Navi Mumbai. A former Patna Pirates match-winner, Dalal’s journey began in Singh Pura Kurud, Haryana, before serving in the army and breaking into PKL with Jaipur Pink Panthers in Season 9. A fractured skull sidelined him for Season 10, but he bounced back strongly last year.
Now, alongside defenders Nitesh Kumar and Mayur Kadam, Dalal is eyeing not just the PKL title but also a place in the Indian national team, targeting the Asian Games gold next year. Bengal Warriorz open their campaign on August 31 against defending champions Haryana Steelers in Vizag.
