For the Patna Pirates, the recent victory over table-toppers Puneri Paltan has reignited their hopes of qualifying for the top eight in PKL 12. Sitting at 10th in the points table, the Pirates had a sluggish start to the season but have regained momentum in the last three matches. The crucial win at Thyagraj Stadium in Delhi was largely driven by left raider Ayan Lohchab, who scored 17 raid points, helping the team dominate the second half despite Pune holding a slim lead at halftime.

Patna Pirates’ defence coach, Randeep Dalal, emphasized that with only two matches remaining, winning both is essential for their playoff ambitions. Captain Ankit Jaglan lauded Lohchab as the best left raider in India, highlighting his consistent performance this season and last. Head coach Ajay Thakur praised young players like Vaibhav, the corner duo Amaan and Dadaso, and Abhishek Gunge, predicting that Gunge could reach the level of Siddharth Desai in the future.
