When the Telugu Titans faced off against Bengaluru Bulls in the Mini-Qualifier at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Sunday, it turned into a thrilling Southern Derby. The Titans emerged victorious with a 37-32 win, thanks to Super 10 performances from Bharat Hooda and Vijay Malik, securing their spot in Eliminator 3. Despite Alireza Mirzaian’s own Super 10 for the Bulls, it wasn’t enough to clinch the win, though they will get another chance against Patna Pirates in Eliminator 2.
The match started at a frenetic pace with Vijay Malik and Alireza leading their respective teams. Bharat Hooda’s early two-point raid gave the Titans a slight advantage, while Shubham Shinde and Deepak Sankar made key tackles. In the final minutes, Bharat Hooda and Vijay Malik’s raids, along with Shankar Gadai’s tackling, helped the Titans pull ahead and hold on to win 37-32. The Titans now advance to Eliminator 3, while the Bulls await their next challenge.
