Hockey: Bronze medal for India at HWL Finals!

In one of the most thrilling hockey matches recently, India edged Netherlands 3-2 in shootouts after tying 5-5 in regular time. In further drama, India came from behind again and won the shootout on the final turn.

Star of the day: Manpreet, with some incisive runs at the Dutch defence, was also the man of the match.

This was also India’s second victory over Netherlands in the last 20 matches/30 years!

South Africa resisted superbly after another century from Rahane saw India set a target of 480 runs from 5 sessions. Captain Amla led the way with a gritty 25 (244). Jadeja, however, got through Amla’s defence this morning but ABD continues to hold out for SA.

#IndonesiaGPG Finals:  Hard luck for Srikanth as he lost to Tommy Sugiarto to bag silver. A see-saw match saw Srikanth save one match point and miss two of his own. Score: 21-17, 13-21, 22-24.
