Virat Kohli always looks for that quick single to get off the mark in the limited-overs game, but it was a different version of his in the second ODI against South Africa in Raipur. The master batter smashed a stunning six off Lungi Ngidi to get his innings underway amid loud cheers from the fans.

‌India had a good start to their innings, courtesy of some erratic bowling from South Africa, in the second ODI at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Wednesday. The Proteas pacers bowled 13 wides inside five overs as the home side reached 40/0 before Nandre Burger induced an outside edge from Rohit Sharma to send the opener back.

However, the crowd erupted in loud cheers as in-form Virat Kohli walked to the middle to mark his guard. The master batter, who was coming off a match-winning hundred from the last game in Ranchi, got off the mark in some style.

After playing three dot balls, the former Indian captain took Lungi Ngidi to the cleaners to score his first runs in the game. With the pacer slightly straying on his line and length and bowling short, Kohli showed quick feet to rock back and bring out the swivel pull.

He made great contact with the bat as the ball sailed over the fine leg fence for the first six of the game. Twitter was in awe as the veteran batter looked in the zone, continuing his purple patch.
