India and Bangladesh were set to go off against each other in a white ball series in December. But this series has been called off indefinitely by the BCCI. Reports suggest that this has been done to provide more break to the Indian team which just won the Women's World Cup.
It may not be a good news to the India Women's team fans, as they might not be able to see the team in action soon. The India Women's team were about to host Bangladesh Women's team in a white ball series. But this series , and no reasons have been given for the same.
The Bangladesh tour of India was all set to commence in December. It has now been called off indefinitely, as the BCB officials received a letter about the same from the BCCI. With the series now being postponed, fans wonder when they can see the India Women's team back in action after the Women's World Cup.
1. Similar to Men's Tour
This is not the first time any series between India and Bangladesh has been suspended. Earlier, the series between India and Bangladesh's men's team was also supposed to take place in August 2025. But at that time, tensions rose between Bangladesh and India due to political turmoil in Bangladesh.

An official announcement was given for this, which said,“This decision has been reached following discussions between the two boards, taking into account the international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience of both teams. The BCB looks forward to welcoming India in September 2026 for this eagerly anticipated series. Revised dates and fixtures for the tour will be announced in due course.”
This time it was India's tour of Bangladesh, and looking at the tensions in that country, the BCCI decided to postpone the series. It was scheduled to take place in September 2026, with the matches being at Mirpur and Chattogram. Fans hope there won't be any delays or further suspensions of the tour this time.
2. Political Tensions in Bangladesh
It should be noted that Bangladesh is currently going through a political crisis. This started in 2024, when Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled to India following the crisis within her country. Eventually, Mohammed Yunus took over and formed his interim government in the country.

At that time, India and Bangladesh also had strained relations. The last time a series took place between these two teams was in 2024, before the turmoil had started. Both countries have also shown interest in improving their relations over the last few months, but things have not been as good as they expected.
This could be one of the major reasons why there is no series between India and Bangladesh as of now, for both men's and women's teams. Along with that, the series has been suspended indefinitely, which means that it totally relies on the political tensions in Bangladesh and their relations with India. Some fans even consider that there might not be any more series
3. Nigar Sultana Targets Harmanpreet Kaur
India and Bangladesh always had some heated battles. One of them took place recently, as the Bangladeshi skipper, Nigar Sultana, decided to take a dig at the Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Sultana is currently facing allegations of physical assault by her own teammate, Jahanara Alam. She is not a part of the team but recalls about the incident when
, “This is nothing new. Joty beats up the juniors a lot. Even during this World Cup, the juniors told me, 'No, I won't do this again. Then I'll have to get slapped again.' I heard from some people, 'I got beaten up yesterday.' Even during the Dubai tour, she called a junior into the room and slapped her.”
On this, Nigar Sultana decided to target the Indian captain, as she said,“Why would I hit anyone? I mean, why would I strike the stumps with my bat? Am I Harmanpreet, that I would go around hitting the stumps like that? Why would I do it? In my personal space, if I’m cooking or something, I might bang my bat around, I might hit my helmet – that’s my own business.”
