IND vs SA | Twitter laughs as comical Siraj creates humour in difficult times by messing with spider cam

Test cricket is arguably the most demoralizing mainstream sport to exist, given any shift in tempo occurs over large periods of time and the losing time has to endure hours of hurt before the final nail. Yet, Mohammed Siraj kept his spirits high in Guwahati with some hilarious shenanigans.

Mohammed Siraj maintained his smile even after enduring a difficult day in Guwahati against South Africa

India's horrors at home grew from bad to worse at Baraspara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati in the second Test as a 288-run first innings lead for the tourists left India staring at an unprecedented second clean sweep in the space of just 12 months. Only one Proteas batter failed to cross into double digits in the first innings while eight batters surpassed the 35-run mark, including centurion Senuran Muthusamy and Marco Jansen who blitzed 93 runs late on. Amongst the bowlers, Kuldeep Yadav was most successful with four scalps albeit at the cost of 115 runs while Mohammed Siraj endured the toughest time amidst the regular bowlers, sending down 30 overs for 106 runs and managing just two wickets in return. Nevertheless, the pacer did not let the situation of the game break him as he engaged in some tomfoolery while fielding.

During Day 3, the crowd cheered Siraj on as he stood by the boundary with the spider camera hovering around him along its cables. Almost intinctively, the quick took off his hat and placed it on the hovering camera, which duly took it away as it soared back towards the sky. A couple of balls later, the camera returned to greet Siraj and hand him back his cap, and the pacer obliged amidst raucuous cheers from the stands at the unusual sight in front of them.

Twitterati was enthralled.
