1. The Controversy
The PCB had earlier announced that two new teams would be introduced to the tournament for the 11th edition. The bidding for these two new teams has also been opened. At this point, the tensions between the PSL management and Multan Sultans were mounting to a great extent.

Their owner, Ali Tareen, was unhappy with the decisions being made by the PSL management. He also expressed disappointment on several occasions due to the lack of transparency being shown by the management. Due to this reason, he expressed his opinions across several podcasts and TV shows.
Tareen talked about the reasons why the PCB is not able to improve the PSL to a great extent. Along with that, he also targeted a few officials through the podcasts, noting the behaviour issues he had faced with them. The PCB remained silent for a while, but then decided to take action on the same.

Due to this reason, they sent a formal termination notice to Multan Sultans from the Pakistan Super League. The termination of the team would not take place if Tareen took back his statements he made in public and also issued an apology for the same to the PSL management. This notice was sent to Ali Tareen, serving as a termination and warning at the same time.

Along with that, it also mentioned that the board will blacklist Ali Tareen to ensure that he doesn't stake across any teams
