Dusan Vlahovic faces an absence of two to three months after scans revealed a high grade left adductor injury. The striker was hurt during the win against Cagliari and has six goals this season. Juventus will now rely heavily on Jonathan David and Lois Openda for goals during a crucial period in Serie A and Europe.
Getting the latest update from Turin, Juventus have been dealt a major setback with Dusan Vlahovic ruled out for close to 3 months after suffering a high grade adductor injury during the win against Cagliari. The striker asked to be substituted immediately after feeling pain in the first half, and scans at J Medical confirmed a serious muscle tendon junction injury in his left adductor longus.
Juventus have not specified an exact recovery timeline, but Italian reports estimate an absence of 2 or 3 months. Manager Luciano Spalletti added that the medical team will determine the final duration, although he also expects a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Vlahovic has been Juventus’ top scorer this season with 6 goals in all competitions, and his injury arrives at a crucial stage with heavy fixtures in December, January and February across Serie A and Europe.
The responsibility in attack now shifts to Jonathan David and Lois Openda, who both scored in the recent comeback win over Bodo Glimt. With Spalletti previously relying heavily on Vlahovic since taking charge in late October, the upcoming period will test Juventus’ depth as they navigate a demanding schedule without their main number 9.
