AIK forward Kevin Filling has denied reports linking him with a €3 million (£2.6m) move to Manchester United. The 16-year-old Swedish striker, who has scored three goals in 11 appearances this season, clarified that he remains focused on AIK. Due to Brexit rules, United cannot sign European players under 18, making the speculation unfounded.
During the 2025 Allsvenskan season, 16-year-old AIK striker Kevin Filling addressed rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United. Reports had suggested that United were close to signing the Swedish teenager for around €3 million (£2.6 million), but both the player and the Swedish media dismissed the claims. Speaking to Fotboll Direk, Filling stated that he was focused solely on performing for AIK and contributing to his team’s success.
The forward has made 11 senior appearances this season, scoring three goals across competitions, and is regarded as one of Sweden’s promising young prospects. While Manchester United were reportedly among several clubs monitoring Filling, the move was never likely to materialise due to Brexit regulations that prevent Premier League and EFL clubs from signing players under 18 from overseas. United’s recent transfer dealings have instead focused on players like Enzo Kana-Biyik, who joined from Le Havre after turning 18.
The Red Devils continue to scout young European talents but remain bound by work permit and age restrictions. Filling’s mature response and early impact for AIK have nonetheless attracted attention, marking him as one to watch in Scandinavian football.
