Cristiano Ronaldo is set to appear at the White House on Tuesday alongside Donald Trump as the US president hosts Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The Al Nassr star, now 40 and preparing for his sixth World Cup in 2026, recently praised Trump and expressed interest in meeting him. This will be Ronaldo’s first US visit in almost ten years.

When the news emerged that Cristiano Ronaldo would appear at the White House on Tuesday, it created major global attention. The visit is set to coincide with United States president Donald Trump hosting Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Washington. Ronaldo, now playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, has become one of the most visible representatives of the kingdom’s tourism and sporting projects after joining from Manchester United in 2023.

At forty years of age, he remains central to Portugal’s plans and will represent his country at the 2026 World Cup in North America. With Portugal confirming qualification on November seventeen, Ronaldo is lined up to become, along with Lionel Messi, the first man to participate in six World Cups. He has already said that the upcoming tournament will be his final appearance on the world stage. Ronaldo’s upcoming White House appearance also follows his recent comments praising Trump.

In an interview with Piers Morgan, he described the American leader as someone who can bring change and expressed a strong desire to meet him. Trump, meanwhile, has shown increased interest in global football since returning to office, frequently appearing with FIFA officials and even staying on stage during the Club World Cup Trophy presentation earlier this year.
