Bernardo Silva, Manchester City’s long-serving midfielder since 2017, has hinted he will leave the club after the 2025-26 season when his contract ends. Currently wearing the captain’s armband, the 31-year-old aims to focus on winning one last major title with City. Top clubs, including Benfica, Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli, Barcelona, and Saudi teams are reportedly interested in his services.
As the 2025-26 season progresses, Bernardo Silva appears to be preparing for the end of his long tenure at Manchester City. Having joined the club in 2017, the Portuguese midfielder is now the second longest-serving player in the squad, only behind John Stones. Pep Guardiola recognized his leadership by naming him captain at the start of this season, signaling Silva’s importance both on and off the pitch.
With his contract set to expire in June 2026, Silva has hinted that this could be his final season at the Etihad Stadium. Although he stayed at Manchester City during the summer transfer window despite receiving multiple offers, the 31-year-old midfielder has already decided on his next move but chose to focus on the present. Speaking ahead of the Champions League clash with AS Monaco, Silva stated, “I know exactly what I am going to do but it is not the time to talk about it.
It is time to concentrate on Manchester City, to try to do my best to put the club back where it should be.” Several clubs, including Benfica, Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli, and Barcelona, are reportedly interested in signing him. Recent rumors also suggest a possible move to Saudi Arabia. For now, Silva’s priority remains helping Manchester City reclaim their form and pursue major titles before his anticipated departure.
