Barcelona’s Hansi Flick to Miss El Clásico After Suspension; Raphinha Nears Return.

La Liga has upheld Hansi Flick’s red card from Barcelona’s win over Girona, ruling him out of Sunday’s El Clásico against Real Madrid. Despite the setback, Barcelona received a boost as Raphinha returned to training after missing five matches with a hamstring injury and is likely to feature at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Going to the much-awaited El Clásico, Barcelona will be without their manager Hansi Flick, as La Liga has upheld his suspension following his red card against Girona. Flick was sent off during the tense Catalan derby after reacting angrily to the minimal added time given, receiving two yellow cards in quick succession. Despite Barcelona’s 2–1 victory, sealed by a stoppage-time goal from Ronald Araujo, the German coach’s dismissal has caused a stir.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta criticized the decision, accusing the league of bias toward Real Madrid, but the appeal was rejected, confirming Flick’s ban for Sunday’s showdown at the Santiago Bernabéu. However, the Catalan side received a boost as Raphinha, who has been sidelined for five matches due to a hamstring injury, returned to training and could feature against Madrid.

The Brazilian winger has been a key figure under Flick this season. In his absence, Marcus Rashford has stepped up impressively, scoring five goals and providing six assists in 12 appearances. While Flick’s absence on the touchline is a blow, the potential return of Raphinha could strengthen Barcelona’s attack as they prepare for the crucial El Clásico clash against their fierce rivals, Real Madrid.
