Giving the Patna Pirates a major boost in Pro Kabaddi 2025, star raider Ayan Lohchab emerged as one of the standout performers of the season. Despite the Pirates’ campaign ending in Eliminator 3 against Telugu Titans, the team’s remarkable turnaround from the bottom of the table to the playoffs captured plenty of attention. Lohchab led the way with 316 raid points in 22 matches at an average of 14.36, including 16 Super 10s, finishing as the league’s top raider.
In an exclusive chat with Sportskeeda, Lohchab expressed his readiness to take on the captaincy role in the future, having led the side in two matches against Bengaluru Bulls and Jaipur Pink Panthers. He credited current skipper Ankit Jaglan for his leadership and motivation during tough times, praising how he kept the team united.
Lohchab also highlighted the impressive performances of Ankit, Deepak, and Navdeep, the latter finishing as the league’s best defender with 73 tackle points and six High 5s. Ankit and Deepak added 51 and 33 tackle points respectively, rounding off a strong defensive unit. Lohchab’s performance and mindset indicate he could be a strong captaincy candidate for the Pirates in the coming season.
