Wicketkeepers find it difficult to relay a throw, and Sinalo Jafta was caught in embarrassing territory during the World Cup match against Bangladesh. The South African wicketkeeper could not make the most of a runout chance as her underarm throw flew over the bowler as the batter made safe ground.

‌Bangladesh Women had a slow start after opting to bat in an ODI World Cup match against South Africa at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Monday. Sharmin Akhter’s half-century took the side to 150/2 in 40 overs, but all the top-order batters were guilty of playing too many dot balls.

However, Shorna Akter came up with a counterattacking knock to take the side past the 200-run mark. The all-rounder smashed three fours and three sixes during her knock as the Tigresses went to 223/6 with one more over to play.

The Proteas, however, had a chance to stop the batter from reaching her half-century in the third ball of the last over when she attempted a quick single after dabbing the ball to the cover fielder.

The Proteas skipper Laura Wolvaardt rushed to the ball before throwing to keeper Sinalo Jafta. But Ritu Moni, the non-striker, was quick and made her ground just as the throw came in. And Jafta immediately tried to relay the ball to medium pacer Tumi Sekhukhune, who was shouting for the same.

But the underarm throw went astray as it flew over the bowler, much to the horror of Jafta. To add insult to injury, Bangladesh took another run off the overthrow with Dhorna reaching her fifty in 34 balls.

Another mistake from Jafta in the final ball saw the batters complete two more runs to end at a competitive 232/6 in 50 overs. Twitter was in splits as Jafta’s comedy of errors allowed the Tigresses to add crucial runs to their tally.

LOL!

Hahaha!

Hilarious!

Good!

Let's see!

Oh?

Nice game!
