In the latest twist to a long-running legal dispute, renowned orthopaedic surgeon Professor Fares Haddad, who treated Harry Kane during his 2020 hamstring surgery, has won just over £37,000 in damages after his Bentley Continental GT W12 was stolen in 2023. He had initially sued London’s oldest Bentley dealership, Jack Barclay Ltd., for £82,643, arguing that the theft occurred because the dealership failed to activate the vehicle’s Vodafone tracker system despite installing the hardware.

Judge Andrew Holmes ruled that the dealership was indeed at fault for never sending the required activation email, meaning the tracker subscription never began, which later caused Haddad’s insurance claim to be rejected. However, the judge also held that Prof. Haddad bore significant responsibility for not realising for years that no tracker subscription was active. Due to this “contributory negligence”, the court reduced the compensation by 60 per cent to £33,057, with interest taking the total above £37,000.

Prof. Haddad, now clinical director of the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health, was pivotal in Harry Kane’s recovery during the Covid-affected 2019-20 season. Kane went on to score 18 Premier League goals for Tottenham that year. Meanwhile, the Bayern Munich striker continues his hot streak in 2025, netting 25 goals in 21 games as his side prepares to face Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.
