After a commanding 46-39 victory over Patna Pirates at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium, the Telugu Titans secured their first playoff berth in nine years, ending Patna’s eight-match winning streak in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12. The win propelled them into Qualifier 2, where they will face Puneri Paltan for a place in the final against Dabang Delhi K.C.

Head coach Krishan Kumar Hooda expressed deep emotion, calling it a “do-or-die” contest and lauding his players for transforming the team’s fortunes after years of struggles. Captain Vijay Malik credited the team’s consistency and unity throughout the season, while star raider Bharat Hooda continued his outstanding form, scoring 23 points in the win and surpassing 200 raid points for the season. He said:

“We worked hard in the pre-season with our coach. The franchise has also supported us throughout. Our seniors, Vijay and Shubham, also ensured that the team is constantly engaging in discussions, even during the matches and in practice. The team has always motivated us, even after we’ve lost a game. The result of the work put in by everyone is reflected in our performance on the mat.”

Krishan Kumar Hooda praised the leadership of senior players Vijay, Bharat, and Shubham Shinde, who guided four NYPs and inspired the team on both ends of the mat. He likened the Vijay-Bharat partnership to the iconic Sholay duo, emphasizing their chemistry and commitment.
