The West Indies tour of India was expected to be in favour of the home team. This factor eventually worked well in the first Test between the two teams. India ended up securing a massive win over them, taking a lead.

Although India did well in the first half of the game, it was the second half which shocked the fans. The West Indies ended up scoring 390 runs in the second innings. This has made them the second team since 2013 to score more than 350 runs in India in the second innings.

1. India vs West Indies, 2nd Test: 2025

After winning the first game, India faced the West Indies for the second Test. This match was set to be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, which is known to be a batter-friendly pitch. India came out to bat first in this game and dominated.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill smashed centuries for the team. And Sai Sudharsan went on to score 87 runs, missing out on his ton. When the West Indies came to bat, the team trembled in its first innings. They were able to score just 248 runs and had been sent to bat again.

Before the West Indies, this record was broken by England. It should be noted that England was also the last team to have scored 350+ runs against India in its second innings. But it came back in 2012, and then in 2024. England visited India for a five-match Test series.

In the first Test, the team was bowled out after scoring 246 runs. Only Ben Stokes managed to score a half-century in the same. In response to the same, India was able to dominate the English bowlers. The team scored 436 runs, with half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja.

Now England stepped in in its second innings. They also had a massive lead, but the team didn't look back. This helped them to score 420 runs, dominating the Indian bowlers with ease. It was for the first time since January 2013 that any team scored 350+ in India in the second innings.

India was given a target of 231 runs by England. But the final day pitches didn't favour the team. As a result, India ended up scoring just 202 runs in the chase. Thus, England ended up winning the game by 28 runs, creating a historic win in India.
