AUS vs IND | Twitter goes wild as SKY sticks out behind to mimic hapless Short against Bumrah

Not many batters in the world can claim to have much of a chance against an on-song Jasprit Bumrah wielding the new ball, and Matthew Short was no difference at the Gold Coast on Thursday. However, Suryakumar Yadav piled on the opener's plight by mocking how clueless he looked against the quick.

India managed a subpar 167/8 after being asked to bat first in the fourth T20I at the Carrara Oval on Thursday with the series 1-1 and an unassailable lead on the line. The Australian quicks executed their changes of pace brilliantly to deny the tourists any consistent rhythm and scalped a flurry of wickets in the back half of the innings to avoid any late flourishes. However, the pitch seemed to have settled by the time the men from Down Under came out to bat but it made little difference to Jasprit Bumrah, who reaffirmed his credentials as the best bowler in the format with another riveting first over. His skipper Suryakumar Yadav was content to derive sadistic pleasure from the struggles of his opposition and could not contain himself from acting out the Schadenfreude.

After Arshdeep Singh had conceded six to begin, Bumrah took the ball in hand and found Matthew Short on strike. The quick trundled in from behind the stumps, radually building up steam, and with a flurry of action whipped the Kookaburra in from well wide of the crease. The angle of the ball convinced Short it was headed straight for his stumps and he positioned his feet accordingly, only for the white rock to swerve away late after pitching full and drawing a timid stroke from the batter. Fortunately for Short, the ball did enough to beat his outside edge but it brought a smile to Bumrah's face all the same. SKY made it translate into a grin by pointing at Short before getting into batting stance, and sticking out his hands with arms at full stretch away from his body. The Indian skipper protruded his rear and put on a silly expression to complete the act-out, much to the broadcasters and his teammates' delight.

Twitterati was thoroughly amused.

Funny SKY!

What?

May be!

Ohhh!

Hahaha!

It worked actually!

Ok!

He is playing!

Tight!
